She has taught all levels of high school English as well as speech and drama.  She has a love for teaching and began that love as she worked with young people at church.  She taught pre-school at her church for eight years as she finished up her high school and college education.  She is still involved in many aspects of ministry in her church.

Her devotion to teaching is also seen in her professional development.  Over the years she has strived to continue finding techniques for improving the educational experience.  She continues to be involved in local school improvement as well as school improvement all over the state.  She continues to work with North Central and now AdvancEd improvement programs locally and at a state level.  She serves on school improvement visits.  Mrs. Rice has also been an Ambassador for North Central, an advisor to the State Council for North Central/AdvancEd, and is currently the only teacher in the state that is a member of the State Council for AdvancEd.
