  • Currently working on Master’s in Education – English focus

Current Position:

I started teaching in Jay for the 2012-2013 school year. During my time here, I have taught English 1-4, Creative Writing, and Current Issues. Currently, I have English 3, English 4, and Modern World Literature.

Previous Position:

When I started at Jay, I started my teaching career. Prior to coming to Jay, I completed internships in Tulsa Public Schools and Owasso Public Schools. Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked in construction doing work from General Manager, Estimator, Accountant, and Project Management. While working in the business world, I spent many days teaching co-workers various aspects of the industry. Out of all the jobs I had held, teaching others was what I enjoyed the most. Therefore when I decided to go back to school, teaching was the obvious choice for me.

Family Information:

I have two sons. One son is a young adult living and working in Tulsa. My youngest son is still in Jay schools. He has been active in sports, but has now joined Ag and is loving it. In addition to human children, I share my house with multiple furbabies. We currently have four cats, four dogs, and two pigs that masquerade as horses (they are horses). Soon, we are hoping to expand our home to include goats.

Personal Information:

In addition to spending time with our animals, we can regularly be found on the lake camping and fishing. We enjoy spending a lot of time outdoors during the summer. During the school year, we are regularly found at the school either working or practicing sports.
